Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) give information on how to make your home more energy efficient and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. All homes bought, sold or rented require an EPC. An example of an EPC is shown on the right.

The rating reflects how much it costs to heat the property based on your heating system, against how much it loses through the walls, ceiling, windows etc.

You will also be provided with (where necessary) optional recommendations which detail how to improve the efficiency of the property and consequently your rating. In the example to the right the improvements - if carried out in their entirety - would improve the rating from 37 to 73.

If you do make any changes to your property and require a new certificate, we charge £20 (No VAT) for return visits.

EPCs are valid for 10 years.
